Adult Bible Study: Meets in the Lower Level
Conference Room. This is a Bible study/discussion class of selected
books of the Bible. Teacher: Bob Oeste
From the mystery of the Ark of the Covenant to the doomed kingship
of Saul, from the joyous song of Hannah to Samuel’s call, from
David’s battle with Goliath to his friendship with Jonathan,
the stories of I Samuel mark a turning point in the political and
religious history of ancient Israel. This fall, Sunday morning Bible
Study turns to this pivotal Old Testament book to learn about these
and other mileposts in the faith journey of God’s people. As
usual, we will be discussing ancient history, culture, customs, religion,
geography, and Biblical archeology, always with an eye on how God’s
Word continues to guide us in our daily lives. Resources include the
Anchor Bible Series volume on First Samuel, written by eminent Johns
Hopkins scholar P. Kyle McCarter, who has promised to visit our class
in the spring. All are welcome to join our lively discussions!
Fair Trade, Fair Talk: Meets in Thompson Hall - Informal
conversation. Conveners: Amy & Brad Lyman, Bill Kladky
Taking as our impetus the advisory to “read the bible with
the newspaper in the other hand,” we will talk – using
our Christian perspective – about whatever is in the news
that day. The Sunday newspapers will be our resource. Our Christian
beliefs and orientation will be our guide. Come join us. No reservations
necessary. Just stop by and join the conversation. Guaranteed all
perspectives welcome and respected!

includes a Bible lesson, prayer, craft, and song. The class also participates
in some Sunday services and attends some, or parts of, worship services
through the year. New students are welcome at all times!
Plumbline Series: Meets in the Second Floor Parlor
Our format is information/lecture-based presentations designed to
relate current events and issues to faithful living in today’s
world.

About
the Heartlights Class . . .
For over 40 years, Towson Presbyterian
Church (TPC) has offered a class each Sunday for adults with special
needs. A special time has been created at TPC to instill faith in
the hearts of our students. Appropriate curriculum materials are
utilized to teach the story of the love of God to our Heartlights
class, and to help our students profess their faith. The class is
held each Sunday (September through May), at 10:30 a.m. , and includes
a Bible lesson, prayer, crafts and song. The class also participates
in some Sunday services, and attends some, or parts of, worship
services through the year. TPC has a continuing commitment to this
special program and we welcome new students to our class.

Mustard
Seeds Prayer Group
Nearly fifty years ago, a small group of women, led by
Jane Dorman, started a ministry here at TPC called the Mustard Seeds
Prayer Group. The name was chosen because if you have the faith
of a mustard seed, the tiniest piece of grain, you can move mountains.
The group focused on Bible study, intercessory prayer and seeing
themselves as conduits for God's healing.
We have a prayer list comprised of names or initials of those desiring
prayer for themselves or someone they know and the reason for
the request, briefly stated. The list is kept confidential to
Mustard Seeds members and the pastors and is updated each month.
The Mustard Seeds pray every day for all names on the list.
If you have questions about the group or wish
to place a name on the list for prayers, please call the church
office. There are also yellow cards in the Church pews, which may
be filled out and placed in the collection plate.
Monday
Morning Prayer Group
Monday mornings (when Baltimore County schools are in session)
at 9:45 a.m. TPC Nursery.
Are you looking for a great way to start your week? Would you like
to have some help from God with all those challenges & concerns
that we all seem to have to deal with? Everyone is welcome to join us
each Monday morning in the TPC nursery for a time of sharing and prayer.
We pray for the Church, each other, and any other concerns that members
of the group have. Infants & toddlers are also welcome. Any questions?
Call the Church office.
