Camp
BeeTree - All God's Animals!
Each summer, Towson Presbyterian sponsors a day camp
at our Beetree facility in Parkton, Maryland. It is usually the second
week of July. A Design Team will meet to plan a fun and inspiring program
for children, who are assisted by youth volunteers.
Look for the dates and theme to be publicized in the winter.

Camp in
2005:
Help Wanted:
Full-Time Job Doing God's Will

"The Butcher, the Baker,
the Candlestick Maker..
The Shepherd, the Healer, the
Rabbi and Teacher."
These and many other kinds of workers were needed in Bible
times, just as they are needed today. Kindergarten through high school
children were invited to explore the many types of jobs held in Bible
times in a week-long Vacation Bible Day Camp called Camp Beetree. From
beggars to high priests, from musicians to artists, to shephereds to
carpenters, children discovered that people have always had a special
role to play in God's community. They learned about life in Bible times
- how people made a living and families worked together, according to
God's plan. Through the use of stories from the Bible, crafts, music,
foods, and special guests demonstrating the skills and talents needed
to do God's work, campers developed a better understanding of these
lives and times. At a culminating event on Day 4 of camp, our Telling
Tent was transformed into a Bible Times Market Place with eight vendors
selling merchandise to children.
Almost 100 children and adults were involved in our existing
program in 2005. Ten guest speakers visited camp to talk about current
and Bible times occupations. Field trips to Boordy Vineyard & Cromwell
Valley Farms helped us to see farming, beekeeping, husbandry, &
grape harvesting first-hand.
