"God saw everything that he had made,

and indeed it was very good."  Genesis 1:31

"The Lord God took the man and put him in the

Garden of Eden to till it and keep it."  Genesis 2:15

We are called to both CELEBRATE and CARE for God’s amazing CREATION!

As a subcommittee of Mission Outreach, EARTH CORPS leads the congregation and the larger community in addressing environmental concerns based on a biblical foundation of Creation Care.  We do this by:

  • nurturing our souls through worship experiences both in our sanctuary and out in nature
  • teaching children and ourselves about ways to treat the earth more gently,
  • encouraging individuals and congregations to adopt lifestyles of consuming, conserving and sharing that promote a sustainable environment, and
  • supporting public efforts to better care for the environment, that are fair and just to the vulnerable and the poor
  • The Earth Corps subcommittee meets monthly and acts a catalyst for many of the Creation Care efforts at TPC such as:
  • reducing energy usage, reducing use of disposables, and encouraging recycling at TPC
  • educational efforts such as speakers, film showings and our annual Environmental Fair
  • the Intergenerational Garden that provides fresh produce for a local food pantry (ACTC)
  • visiting our representatives in Annapolis and D.C. to share our concerns and ideas
  • planting trees, cleaning streams and other hands-on efforts to improve our community

We invite you to JOIN US at our monthly meetings or any of the events and programs that we sponsor throughout the year. Meetings are generally the first Tuesday of the month, in the conference room.

Check with the church office or the church calendar for exact date and time of our next meeting.
