Church School

Middle School teens begin in worship at 10:00 a.m. and then head up to the Youth Room to explore faith, serve with our Food for Thought program, help lead Children’s Church, and play a game in the gym!

Confirmation Class

Confirmation Class is directed towards youth in Grades 8 and 9, though older students may join as well.  Our Associate Pastor leads the Confirmand journey of faith, which occurs every two years.

The Confirmation Program is uniquely designed for youth who want to join the church, and for those who don’t want to join but would like to explore and discuss with other youth the values and practices of love, hope, equality, human dignity, peace and justice.  At the end of the Confirmation Program on Confirmation Sunday, students may either become Members of our church or receive recognition from the congregation as Explorers of Religious Faith.  All will be honored for completing the program.

The program begins with a few informal activities during the fall, and switches to a formal process of classes and mentor conversations starting in January.   Our class time together takes place most Sunday mornings in the Youth Room, January through March, from 11:30 to 12:30 pm.  Youth are joined in their exploration with Adult Mentors, in addition to parents, who help model for youth what it’s like to try to live a life of faith, hope and love in the real world.  The confirmation process is more than stuffing heads with knowledge; it is a journey of growing in grace and confidence.
