TPC Honduras Mission Trip  —  Friday, March 8 – March 15, 2019

Join TPC for an unforgettable week in Honduras, providing dental, medical and community services to villagers in the Copan Ruinas area. We welcome everyone – no experience or Spanish needed! (We’ll have several interpreters and Spanish-speakers with us this year!)
Prior to the trip, we’ll get together as a group for orientation potluck, during which we’ll go over the basic information, give you a chance to ask questions while getting to know each other. We may also have a few work days at church packing donations and organizing supplies and medicine.

Medicine List

We depart bright and early (really, really early on Friday, March 8.)
American Airlines BWI to MIAMI 545AM to 826AM
American Airlines MIAMI TO SAN PEDRO SULA 100P to 230P

Once in San Pedro Sula, we board buses to take us to Copan. It is several hours depending on traffic and road repairs. We’ll stop once along the way for bathroom and drinks/snack.

In Copan, we’ll be staying at the Hotel Buena Vista, our home for the past several years. Gustavo and his staff take very good care of us! A refreshing pool and lovely courtyard make this a nice place to relax after a long day. There is air conditioning as well as hot water showers. Gustavo’s staff make all our meals for us, keeping in mind what we can and cannot eat. The food is simple, plentiful and delicious, especially the Honduran bbq he treats us to at the end of the week.
We’ll spend 5-6 days working in local villages and Casita Copan, the local orphanage/foster home. Your talents are exactly what we need – whatever they are! If you are interested in helping with the dental service, Patty O’Brien will have you over to her office for training in cleaning and sealing prior to the trip. If you are interested in building eco-stoves, our construction team may meet before the trip to go over the basic design and construction. And if you are interested in helping with activities for the women and children of the villages, we may get together to put together activity kits.

In the evenings, there is time to relax over dinner at the hotel, walk downtown for coffee, dessert and shopping, take in a salsa dancing lesson or check out the local nightlife. We’ll also try to find time to visit the ruins, the museum or our favorite Tea and Chocolate Place.
Sadly on Friday, March 15th, we’ll return to San Pedro Sula for our flights home. It is always hard and we leave a little piece of our hearts in Copan.

American Airlines SAN PEDRO SULA TO MIAMI 230PM to 655PM
American Airlines MIAMI to BWI 930PM to 1209AM
Price to be determined, but around $1300 which includes airfare, hotel, ground transportation in Honduras, most meals in Honduras. Additional expenses would include souvenirs, coffee, alcoholic beverages, tours, massages, activities on your own.
