Youth Ministry

At Towson Presbyterian Church

We believe that faith grows and lives in a myriad of places – on your own, at home within a family, and within a community of faith. Our Youth Ministry encourages all three. Our hope is for teens to have a sense of belonging and connection within the larger community of faith, and know that they are God's beloved.

Youth Group

Sundays, 5:30–7:30pm (Grades 6th–12th)

Meeting during the school year on a weekly basis, Youth Group is a time for students to explore faith, build friendships with peers and mentors, and have fun! Every gathering begins with eating dinner together, followed by singing with TPC's Director of Music, Stephen Harouff. We then play a game, have a devotion, check-in, and pray. Please CLICK HERE to complete the 2023–2024 health form if your student will be participating in Youth Group this year.

First Fridays

First Friday of Every Month, 6:00pm (Grades 4th–5th)

Once a month, our older elementary children are invited out for First Fridays. Meeting in the Youth Room, this is an opportunity for 4th–5th Graders to experience what Youth Group will be like when they enter into Middle School. This helps them transition socially and emotionally so they are comfortable and excited about the following year when they join Youth Group on Sunday evenings! Please CLICK HERE to complete the 2023–2024 health form if your student will be participating in First Fridays this year.

Confirmation

Bi-Yearly (Grades 8th–9th)

TPC's Confirmation Class is typically held every other year between January and May. In this five-week course, teens explore what it means to be a Christian in the Presbyterian tradition, attend and participate in worship, explore the Gospel of Mark with a mentor, and write a Statement of Faith. After completing the class, they have the option to be Confirmed in their faith in front of the entire congregation.

The next Confirmation Class is scheduled for January 2025.

Youth Sunday

Every Winter (Grades 6th–12th)

Once a year, TPC's Youth lead an entire Sunday morning worship service. From the Children's Message to the prayers and readings, our teens plan and facilitate the service, INCLUDING the sermons!
