Hunger Action Team
The violence of poverty is both global and local. The Maryland Food Bank estimates that one in every nine Marylanders (including one in six kids) suffer from food insecurity. Food insecurity causes more than just hunger pains. It can lead to ongoing malnourishment, struggles in school due to an inability to concentrate, and social stigma. At TPC, we know we can and must do something about it.

If you are new here, you may be asking: What is Sunday Community Lunch?
Each Sunday members of the Towson community who face food insecurity and/or homelessness are invited to Thompson Hall for lunch and fellowship. We have cherished this time to practice Christian hospitality and be the hands and feet of Jesus while getting to know some incredible people (both in the kitchen and around the tables)!

ACTC is the result of a group of Towson-area churches coming together to provide emergency help for those in need in our community. The Center opened its doors in 1985 to provide emergency help, including food, eviction and utility cutoff prevention, payment for prescriptions, and lunches for the homeless. Currently, its service area incorporates 21 zip codes in central Baltimore County extending up to the Pennsylvania line.
