Mark Smiley
Parish Affliate
Mark is grateful to be included as a parish affiliate at Towson Presbyterian church. He is retired as an ordained pastor in the United Methodist Church, where he served in churches and on conference (like Presbytery) staff for 32 years. His primary ministry today is as a mental health counselor. He enjoys working with children and has been active in TPC’s Logos and Camp BeeTree programs as well as the handbell choir.
He is married to Jean Smiley, and they have 2 adult daughters (one of whom is also a pastor, the 6th generation in their family). He appreciates TPC’s open and welcoming stance towards people from all walks of life. He strives to extend that welcome, particularly towards children, youth, and members of the LGBTQ community. Fun fact: in his childhood, he was a half-decent acrobat!
