A churchwide book study exploring how we can live out hope and love amidst the seemingly insurmountable challenges facing the world today.
The Book Study.
This fall, TPC is offering (and encouraging) a churchwide book study of Love is the Way: Holding on to Hope in Troubling Times by Bishop Michael Curry. Much of the world met Michael Curry, a civil rights activist and priest, when he delivered his sermon on the redemptive power of love at the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. In his book, he expands on his message of hope in an inspirational road map for living the "Way of Love," illuminated with lessons from his own life. He offers the "Way of Love" as essential in addressing the seemingly insurmountable challenges facing the world today: poverty, racism, deep ideological divisions, competing claims to speak for God. His book offers guidance for how to live with hope, to bridge the divide and to see the potential in others and the world today, with God's help.
Discussion Groups
Small groups for discussion and reflection will meet weekly; two will gather in the TPC Chapel and two will gather on Zoom. Please register in advance by clicking on the groups below. If meeting virtually, the facilitator will email the Zoom link to those registered before the first session. Groups are limited to 12 participants. While reading the book is recommended, each session will present excerpts from the book as prompts for discussion.
